Does Shaytan exist?
Are we responsible for our nafs, or we are responsible to recognize the Hamzat's waswas and mend our nafs?
How our nafs gets affected from Satanic whisperings?
Are we able to make a difference between our nafs, its whipers and satanic whispers?
Can jinns posses us? Are we affected by shaytan (evil jinns) YES! through magic, or attraction or wronging someone. We are constantly surrounded by jinns and their offspring. They are the children of Iblees. While we are the children of Adam Alayhis salam. Jinns can possess our bodies under few conditions. If a part of our body is used to blow magic on it (hair, skin, blood or nails) or if we perform some actions which are not from sunnah or if we have mistreated someone by our unjust actions.
Sometimes, our inner voice is not OURS. The constant pangs of sorrow, horror or depression. Many psychological illnesses are jinn inflicted. And there are many litmus tests which can be done, to hear him inside our body. In some people, when the Quran is played, they faint, tremble, shiver, or a part of their brain goes into severe confusion, anger or depression, sleep. Anxiety attacks and their heart's palpitations grow tremendously. These are pure signs of being inflicted by jinns. Where they try to convince you, that this is you & "not them." Allah has given power to the shaytan to play with us, to put ideas into our heart, to circulate in our bloodstreams, to whisper into our hearts. He gives us thousands of ideas everyday. But it is on us how we deal with him?
Problem arises when we do righteous deeds, pray salat and recite Duas of protection; in return we feel dizziness, forgetfulness, we feel pain in the body while reciting Quran. This is an alarming situation but CONGRADULATIONS you have recognized the shaytan.
Many people do not respond to Quran so evidently, but the idea of shaytan affecting our thoughts still persist. This is a natural phenomenon, which is created by Allah subhana wa Ta'la and this is the test of this world.
THE CONVERSATION OF IBLEES & ALLAH IN SURAH SAD
When Iblees said to Allah subhana wa Ta'la after he refused to bow to human creation of Allah, Adam Alayhisalam
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
But Iblis said, ‘My Lord, grant me respite until the Day when they are raised from the dead,’
To divert us from reaching salvation, to divert us from the straight path, which goes to Allah & attainment of His Love. Allah subhana wa Tala granted Iblees his request, allowing him the chance he wanted: “He said: You are one of those granted respite till the day of the appointed time.” (Verse 81) Satan then revealed his goal which summed up his grudge: “[Iblees] then said I swear by Your very Might: I shall certainly tempt them all except Your true servants.” (Surah Sad Verses 82-83) Thus Iblees defined his plan of action. He swore by the Lord of Power that he would tempt all human beings, except those over whom he had no power.
How can we become of those on whome he has no power? A bit too realistic. Shaytan plots for years and years against the righteous ones. Many times the righteous people also make mistakes, ask for Allah's forgiveness and recognize shaytan. But many times, they fall prey to the inovations of shaytan; hopelessness & practicing rituals without their heart in it.
HOW TO WORK ON OUR NAFS?
HOW TO DEFEAT THE SHAYTAN?
إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
They plot and scheme,
وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا
But so do I (Allah):
فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا
[Prophet], let the disbelievers be, let them be for a while. -
Surah At Tariq
So, give a respite to the disbelievers; meaning, wait for them and do not be in haste concerning them.
أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا
deal gently with them for a while, meaning, a little while in this Duniya.
This means that you will see what befalls on Iblees & his followers of torment, punishment and destruction. And this Duniya is for a little while, the life after death is permanent. There believers will stay in their condition forever. Here in this world, a believer is being rewarded for tiny pains, drops of tears and anxiety caused by shaytan. If you are fighting, you are living!
