Answering Children's Qs
ZAYD BAASIR (7yrs old, 2nd child from all 4)
1. Mama does Allah have a Magical magnifying glass to see in everything closely what it does?
Zayd is getting curious about Allah. How ALLAH knows everything, how can He SWT see everyone? Does Allah have eyes, body or wings? These are some of his normal Questions. He is a very reflective child MASHAALLAH. He is the middle child who sometimes gets overshadowed by his eldest sister BAYYENAH but that doesn't stop him from thinking.
Zayd thinks Allah is present in all things, that is why Allah knows everything and everyone.
He went to a Ramadan party when he was just 2 to 3yrs old. Omar Khwaja (the author of Ilyas & Duck) did a role play of his book “Search for Allah?” Zayd’s brain made some connections that day. He was curious to know about Allah and His creations. And how we can see Allah through His Bayyinaat (evident signs of Allah)
Zayd Allah is All-Knower of everything. It is His Knowledge of everything which tells Him who is doing what, where, who wants what, where?
He can listen to AAALLLL the people at one time. Now imagine, if all the siblings start talking to you what they need or want, or what they feel, will you be able to listen to any one of them?
This is the quality of True Illah and such is Allah
2. How can Allah see us when He lives in the 7th sky?
Underlying Assumption: Allah is looking at all the things we do on earth, while he is sitting up on the kursi (chair)
Possible cause: Zayd is very curious after ILYAAS AND DUCK being his favourite book and Omar Khwaja being his favourite author. Most of the times, he reads books with me on these topics like “Zaydu Potato’s Who is Allah?” and other books on Who is Allah?
Cause: The books he reads every night help him think Allah can see us, but how can Allah see us? Who is Allah watching from the top, through a camera or pipe hole intrigues him.
Response: Allah is not a human being, he doesn't have legs or eyes or hands. He doesn't even need the help of camera, eyes or artificial intelligence to see us.
“Then what is He?” Zayd asked.
He is a light, that is the only kind of form I am aware of. A light which we cannot see. Or we will faint like Musa AS did. Allah can see us because He encompasses all knowledge of every thing what he/she/it are doing.
3. Why do adults think they want their children to spend their childhood the same way as the adults did?
Underlying Assumption: My mom wants me to repeat the behaviour which she did in her childhood. And I am Zayd I am not mom
Possible cause: I was asking him to do a certain thing
Response: Zayd I do not expect you to be like me. I know you are Zayd and you cannot be like me but there are certain things I expect you to start doing as you are growing up, like putting your shoes back in the rack, putting the dishes in the sink when you finish eating
CHILD’S NAME: BAYYENAH BAASIR (9yrs old, first child of all 4)
4- If Allah knows everything then why did He create us and put us in this test?
Underlying Assumption: This world is a test and we have to take charge of our actions
Possible cause: Our children’s Halaqa with mom and dad bought up these thought in Bayyenah’s mind
Allah has kept all choices in front us, He knows which choice leads to which result but he has given us free will to choose that road
